kickin-asphalt:

The most important thing I learned during my first full marathon? Never trust a mile. Just because mile 4 was hell doesn’t mean mile 18 will be too. When you face those tough miles, dig deep, and remember that the next one doesn’t have to be tough too. Each mile, each run, is different. And if you keep that in mind, you can go further than you ever imagined.

Today made history. First time I have stepped on a track in over a year. I did a half mile warmup, followed by a mile of running (including 3/4 lap total walking), and 4 barefoot strides on the grass. I didn’t feel great and everything felt tight and achey and sore especially my knee, but it felt so nice to be on a track again. It was so warm out and perfect for a 5pm run. Ugh I’ve missed it. I hope I’m feeling okay tomorrow because I would love to get back there tomorrow.
